The Spirit Broker, my first novel, is now for sale in e-book format on Amazon. After almost four years of writing, editing,
proof-reading, editing, editing, editing and editing, it’s a good feeling to
finally get it out there.
It’s hard to stop tinkering with a
labour-of-love, especially as with each re-read I seemed to find something else
I wanted to change, remove or add. But
there came a point where I just had to wash my hands of it and move on.

about:
Set in the current day, the
recession is rife and the global fiscal system continues its descent into
chaos. A newly unemployed Londoner, Nicholas Becker, unwittingly uncovers a
secret world within our own which leads him on a journey of discovery and
revelation. He accidentally becomes a spirit broker; a member of an age old
mystic sect of people who exist among us, serving an essential role.
Spirit brokers ensure that the souls of the dead are returned to the ethereal lifeblood of the planet, the Stream. The Stream flows through all living things and is the unseen force from which all new souls are created.
However, malevolent beings are at work to disrupt the Stream and deplete it of its energy, thus jeopardising the very existence of the human soul. Aided by other spirit brokers, Nicholas enters a race against time to prevent the world from another type of recession; a recession of the soul.

Writing the novel was fun, especially
discovering and researching new things throughout the process. There were some
moments of frustration when I found myself stuck at certain plot points, but
finding my way out was even more satisfying.
I have many more tales to tell, but the question
now is which tale do I want to spend the
next year writing?
Also, I still have three more short stories to
put online to complete my set of 12 for last year’s “one-short-story-a-month”mission; but I’ve been very busy with stuff in the real world. The good news is
all three stories are nearly complete.
